Corporate gifting or promotional branded items are effective ways to get your brand name out there or to send a friendly and courtesy reminder to your client to trust your service when needed.
The question I have is, what are you saying with that mug, license disk, pen, tech gadget or whatever Made in China gift you brand with your company logo on when you distribute it to your potential or current client?
Do you know that you send a concealed message with every branded gift you send your client? Think of the last promo item or corporate gift you’ve branded. What story does it tell, or is it just another branded gift with its primary use and no marketing purpose?
We have hooked one of our biggest clients seven years ago with a beaded brooch hand crafted by one of our prop masters. The brand messaging that was attached to it, is that we offer tailor-made, unique solutions to our clients. The cost of the branded item was low, but the value was in the message that could not be measured in money.
We have realised that thinking of what we say with what we give can boost our brand messaging and is way more memorable than what is commonly used and easily obtainable by other brands. It differentiate you from your competition and it put focus on your brand message.
It is also key to look closely who you are sending this gift too? You can build respect and be more creative when you take the following into account:
- Culture
- Region
- Language preference
- Interest
SIX steps to spice up corporate gifting with unique brand messaging?
- List words that reflect the brand message you want to communicate.
- Identify senses, season, location or type of event and energy when you will be distributing the gift.
- Write creative sentences using the information you have gathered in 1 and 2.
- Think about your target market or the people you want to give this gift to incorporating culture, region, language preference and interests.
- Conceptualise or manufacture a product or gift that resemble number 3 and 4.
- Brand this product or gift with brand message and reference to your social and digital platforms.
